The MS 150 is a two day bike ride from Houston to Austin on April 16 and 17, 2011.
Day 1 – Saturday, April 16, 2011
The MS 150 starts at three locations in and around Houston, Texas,
- Tully Stadium in Houston, start time 7 a.m.,
- Rhodes Stadium in Katy, start time 7 a.m.,
- Waller Stadium in Waller, start time 8 a.m.
There will be lunch in Belleville which is free for all riders, and the first day ends in La Grange at the Fayette County Fairgrounds, with dinner of course. I bet this dinner will be delicious after 100 miles (160 km) of cycling.
This map also shows the breakpoints that are positioned every eight to twelve miles. Furthermore, the rides that begin in Katy and Waller are a little bit shorter than from Houston.
Day 2 – Sunday, April 17, 2011
The second day start at 7 a.m. with two route options, the express and the challenge route. Both routes lead to the lunch break in Bastrop. I was told the express route is less hilly than the challenge route, but the road is more bumpy instead. Finally, the MS 150 finishes after 80 miles (129 km) at the Texas State History Museum next to the Texas State Capitol in Austin, refreshments provided. The official end is at 6 p.m.
